Empowering Educators with Trusted AI Tools: FAITH Meets European STEM Teachers

The AI Horizons in Education International Course 2026 (5-10/07/2026), organized within the framework of the annual ESIA Summer School by EA, with the support of ICCS and the participation of teachers from different European countries, brought together STEM educators to explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in education.

During this five-day training event, participants had the opportunity to discover different ways in which AI can enhance teaching and learning processes, exchange experiences, and discuss the future of AI-powered education across Europe. As part of the course, Dr. Dimitris Koulentianos presented the Inquiry-Based Learning framework and explained how it is integrated
within the Trust-AI platform, highlighting how inquiry-driven approaches can enhance students’ engagement, exploration, and learning experiences through AI-supported activities.

Additionally, ICCS and EA organized a dedicated workshop where the Trust-AI platform was presented to the participating teachers, offering them the opportunity to explore its functionalities and experience how AI can support innovative STEM teaching and learning practices.

  • Nikolaos Grammatikos presented the Trust-AI platform, guiding teachers through its main features and enabling them to interact with the platform and discover its potential applications in educational contexts.
  • Dr. Evangelia Anagnostopoulou presented the platform’s trustworthiness assessment using the FAITH_AI_TAF framework, focusing on the mitigation actions that have been  implemented to address identified trustworthiness challenges. Teachers shared their valuable feedback on their level of trust in the Trust-AI platform and reflected on the impact of different trustworthiness dimensions on the successful integration of AI in educational environments.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue, hands-on exploration, and knowledge exchange among educators from across Europe, contributing to the development of trusted, human-centred, and responsible AI solutions for the future of STEM education.
